Anime studio Khara Inc., best known for producing the "Evangelion" film reboot series, has produced a new opening sequence for the renewed "Japacon TV" program.

Starting at midnight April 6, the show was rebroadcast as a regular monthly program focusing on anime, manga, video games, fashion and other Japanese pop culture trends.

The hour-long program airs on the first Friday of each month on BS Fuji channel, with reruns airing on the same time slot on the following Friday.

The previous opening sequence, created by Japan's leading animator, Tatsuyuki Tanaka, attracted a lot of attention.

For the rebroadcast, "Evangelion" series chief director Hideaki Anno and key animator Takeshi Honda participated as animators in the production of the opening sequence.

Other leading anime creators involved in the production included character designer Tetsuya Nishio, who has worked on many popular anime such as "Naruto" and "The Sky Crawlers."

Each animator was responsible for a fraction of the show's opening, which was brought together by director Tadashi Hiramatsu.

To coincide with the renewal, the official poster for the program was redesigned by Tanaka featuring various images of Japanese pop culture.
